Cybersecurity Engineer
Job description:
As a member of our Cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for managing and improving vulnerability management processes, securing infrastructure environments, and driving automation initiatives across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. You will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, development, security, and compliance teams to strengthen the organization's security posture while ensuring operational efficiency through automation and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Create custom internal scripts for task automation, data analysis, and API integrations connecting security platforms and infrastructure tools.
- Manage the full vulnerability lifecycle, including identification, assessment, prioritization, remediation tracking, validation, and reporting.
- Prepare vulnerability assessment reports, remediation plans, dashboards, operational procedures, KPIs, and security metrics.
- Coordinate remediation activities across multiple teams to ensure timely patching, security updates, and configuration changes.
- Deploy, administer, secure, and harden Linux, Windows, and VMware ESXi server environments.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN gateways.
- Design, orchestrate, and deploy scalable and resilient infrastructure services supporting cyber threat management operations.
- Develop and implement automated workflows to reduce manual intervention and prevent recurring incidents.
- Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Cloud Operations, SOC, Development, Compliance, and external vendors to ensure effective remediation and security operations.
- Monitor and report on vulnerabilities, risk exposure, high-risk assets, actively exploited threats, ticket trends, and security performance indicators.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation for engineers, operators, and end users.
- Troubleshoot mission-critical services and continuously improve operational efficiency through automation.
Technical skills:
- Strong expertise in Linux, Windows Server, and VMware ESXi administration and security hardening.
- Advanced scripting and automation skills using Python and Bash.
- Experience with API integration and workflow automation between enterprise technologies.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, VPN technologies, and network security principles.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms and related security practices.
- Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Rapid7 Nexpose and Nessus.
- Experience with SIEM platforms, preferably Splunk.
- Experience with ticketing and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow and Jira.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity operations, cyber threat intelligence, and vulnerability management best practices.
- Familiarity with containerized environments and DevSecOps practices, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with messaging and event-driven platforms such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or Google Pub/Sub.
- Knowledge of emerging threats, attack vectors, and modern hybrid cloud security challenges.
- Experience in Java, GoLang, or Rust is considered an asset.
Profile:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure engineering, vulnerability management, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical environments.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Proactive mindset with a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement.
- Fluency in English is required; French is considered a strong asset.
