Rothe is seeking a senior level Cybersecurity Engineer to act as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing NASA TV segments, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. This is an Onsite role, candidates are required to reside locally in one of these NASA locations: Marshall Space Flight Center

Job Description:

The successful candidate will develop a detailed understanding of the function and operation of the information systems maintained by the eMITS contract. Applies expertise in IT and knowledge of IT management requirements to ensure that the organization is responsive to all IT reporting and IT security implementation requirements. Provides guidance to the organization through the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process. Maintains awareness of organizational activities and generates/provides input to the following documentation: IT security plans, testing procedures and results, standard operating procedures, emergency procedures, contingency plans, disaster recovery plans, memoranda of understanding with interfacing systems, user rules/procedures, user/program manuals, risk assessment, backup procedures, A&A processing documents and statement, and verification reviews and site inspections. Assist the organization with monitoring security controls for IT systems, assuring a continuous state of compliance with all IT security regulations and requirements.

Remote, hybrid, and onsite positions the employee bears travel costs to nearest NASA Center for badging and issue of NASA IT equipment.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Education: BA/BS

Minimum Experience: 10 years

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in IT Security Plan development, auditing, assessments, and compliance with NIST standards in a DoD/NASA environment
• Familiarity with NASA RISCS tool.
• Provides periodic reports on the state of regulatory compliance, plan development and approval status and significant issues relating to IT management and information security.
• Must have the ability to analytically solve problems that may arise and determine preventative measures.
• Must be able to follow specifications, standards, and best practices from NASA and throughout the industry.
• Must have strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Must have effective customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cybersecurity certification
