The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving the organization’s cybersecurity infrastructure and controls. This position protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems, networks, applications, and data by identifying security risks, implementing appropriate safeguards, monitoring for threats, and responding to cybersecurity incidents.
The Cybersecurity Engineer works closely with IT, engineering, infrastructure, application development, and business teams to integrate security into technology solutions and ensure that systems are securely designed, configured, operated, and maintained
💼What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity solutions and security architectures.
- Configure and manage security technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint security, EDR/XDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, email security, and identity security solutions.
- Develop and maintain secure configurations and security baselines for servers, workstations, network devices, applications, and cloud environments.
- Implement security controls based on organizational risk, industry standards, and business requirements.
- Evaluate new technologies and architectures for security risks and recommend appropriate safeguards.
- Support secure network segmentation, access controls, encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Assist with the secure design and implementation of cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and security configuration reviews.
- Monitor security events, alerts, logs, and other indicators of potential compromise.
- Implement and maintain identity and access management controls.
- Participate in security architecture reviews for new systems, applications, infrastructure, and technology initiatives.
- Maintain and tune cybersecurity tools and technologies to improve detection and protection capabilities.
- Maintain accurate cybersecurity architecture diagrams, system documentation, configurations, and security records.
- Work collaboratively with IT, infrastructure, networking, application development, and business teams.
🧠What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, systems engineering, information assurance, or a related field.
- Experience working within the Defense Industrial Base.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat management, vulnerability management, and defense-in-depth.
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Experience with cloud security platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with Microsoft GCC High and Entra ID.
- Experience with multi-layered security architectures across on-premise, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
- Experience with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or comparable solutions.
- Experience with EDR/XDR platforms and enterprise endpoint security.
- Knowledge of security frameworks including CMMC, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, or equivalent.
- Relevant professional certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP, or equivalent.
