Cybersecurity Engineer

Summary

Design and implement network segmentation and cyber hardening for a university’s critical infrastructure while bridging project delivery with ongoing security operations.

Salary: NO

About the Role

Pathway Search is partnering with a leading NSW university to secure a hands-on Cybersecurity Engineer for a critical infrastructure hardening and network segmentation program. This role sits across both live project delivery and day to day operations, giving you visibility across the full security lifecycle rather than being confined to project mode or pure BAU.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute cyber hardening initiatives across university infrastructure
  • Design and implement network segmentation to reduce lateral movement risk
  • Bridge project delivery work with ongoing operational security support
  • Partner with architecture and operations teams to turn design intent into deployed, working controls
About You
  • Senior security engineer with real depth in both hardening and network segmentation, not just policy or design experience
  • Comfortable operating with the judgement of a security architect while staying hands-on and technical
  • Higher education, government, or critical infrastructure experience highly regarded
  • CISSP or equivalent certification is a nice to have, not a requirement
Why Apply

A rare opportunity to bring genuine technical depth to a program that values engineering capability over paper credentials.
