Job Summary
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer (Web Application Firewall) to support daily cybersecurity infrastructure operations, focusing on firewall, WAF, SIEM, vulnerability management, and security monitoring to protect enterprise systems.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and network security infrastructure to ensure system protection and availability
- Implement firewall and WAF policy changes, perform rule reviews, software upgrades, patching, and tuning to optimize security controls
- Monitor firewall, WAF, and SIEM platforms to detect security events and operational issues promptly
- Support SIEM operations by onboarding logs, monitoring agent health, maintaining dashboards, and managing alerts to enhance threat detection
- Manage the vulnerability lifecycle by tracking remediation efforts and generating reports to reduce security risks
- Review security findings and recommend remediation actions or compensating controls to mitigate vulnerabilities
- Troubleshoot firewall, WAF, and network security issues to maintain continuous protection and performance
- Prepare detailed security reports, dashboards, and technical documentation to communicate security posture
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and project teams to implement and enforce cybersecurity controls effectively
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, network security, or security engineering
- Hands-on experience administering Palo Alto firewalls and Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies
- Experience operating SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, or ArcSight
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in vulnerability management
- Familiarity with Wireshark and tcpdump network analysis tools
- Palo Alto Networks PCNSA certification
- Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel certification
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- ISC2 certifications such as CC, SSCP, CISSP, or equivalent
