Cyber Platform Engineer (12 Months Contract | Highly Extendable)

About the Role

We're looking for a Cyber Platform Engineer to take ownership of the cybersecurity platforms protecting a large, highly regulated enterprise environment - including firewalls, endpoint detection, DDoS/web protection, and privileged access management. This is a hands-on operational role, ideal for someone who thrives on keeping critical systems stable, secure, and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise firewall infrastructure — health checks, patching, firmware upgrades, and configuration reviews
• Administer EDR platforms — sensor health monitoring, endpoint onboarding, and troubleshooting
• Manage DDoS protection and web security platforms — website onboarding, SSL renewals, security rule updates, vendor coordination
• Administer PAM solutions — privileged account lifecycle management, access reviews, audit support
• Support security incident investigations, log reviews, and root cause analysis
• Perform backup management, restoration testing, and compliance documentation
• Prepare maintenance reports, SOPs, dashboards, and audit documentation

What You'll Need

• Strong foundation in enterprise networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, NAT, DNS, segmentation)
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls or equivalent NGFW platforms
• Experience supporting Carbon Black or similar EDR solutions
• Experience with Cloudflare or equivalent DDoS mitigation/WAF platforms
• Experience with CyberArk or equivalent PAM solutions
• Strong understanding of security hardening, patch management, and change management
• Experience in secure, segregated, or highly regulated environments is advantageous

CCNA, Palo Alto Firewall Certification, CyberArk PAM Certification, Cloudflare Security Certification
