Cylinder Head Engine Technician

Hendrick Motorsports, a leader in the auto racing industry, is currently seeking a Cylinder Head Engine Tech.
Summary: Under the general direction of the Cylinder Head Shop Manager, the Cylinder Head Technician is responsible for teardown and cleanup of cylinder heads and components post-race.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Teardown, inspect and cleanup cylinder heads and components post-race
- Measure valve seat wear and valve guide clearance
- Data entry
- Open work orders
- Install & hone valve guides
- Mill cylinder heads to correct chamber volume
- Inspect & rate valve springs
- Any other duties assigned by manager
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
- Ideally have experience with building race engines.
- Requires working knowledge of basic mechanical skills and competencies.
- Must possess a sound understanding of internal combustion engines.
Computer Skills:
- Requires basic computer skills.
Communication Skills:
- Must possess strong communication skills and an excellent sense of customer satisfaction, communicating with other departments, and perform work as timely and precisely as possible.
Physical Demands:
- Requires vision (near, distance, depth) and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses. Constantly manually manipulates. Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pull up to 40 pounds. Occasionally reaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
