CYS Sports and Fitness Assistant (Equipment & Facilities) NF-03

This position is located at Youth Sports & Fitness Center, Grafenwohr, Germany. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Available to CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours). Apply a practical knowledge of youth recreational activities and skills in the use of various types of recreation equipment. Instruct children/youth on proper use of variety of equipment. Issues/receives recreational equipment.

Identifies age-appropriate equipment for procurement, selects vendor, and purchases gear/equipment as needed. Maintain hand receipts and collects all inventoried items. Inspects supplies and equipment for damage.

Ensures sufficient supplies are on hand and equipment in good condition. Assists in setting up sports events and may assist in athletic programs as needed. Maintains an effective safety and accident prevention program.

Conducts daily safety and maintenance checks of facilities, grounds, and outdoor recreation areas. Recommends purchase of equipment required to maintain proper facility safety compliance.

Operates various types of equipment for athletic field maintenance (lawn mowers, tractors with attachments, edging and pruning tools, trimmers, rakes, etc. Applies fertilizer, seed, and herbicides. Collects and empties trash containers.
