JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Cytotechnologist training
Licensure: Certified ASCP or equivalent
Experience: Only completion of training required
Skills: Good technical skills - color discrimination ability. Ability to obtain and interpret pertinent information in terms of the patients'
needs that are age appropriate. Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for age group of patient served,
particularly focusing on the neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patient.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to normal hazards of clinical laboratory setting; such as, exposure to disease-bearing specimens, toxic chemicals and hazardous wastes. Sitting required for long periods of time. Requires eye and tactile ability for fine detail. Subject to callback as needed.
