Summary

A mid-level Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Power Platform developer builds and extends model-driven and canvas apps on Dataverse, configures Sales/Customer Service/Field Service, automates with Power Automate, writes custom code and integrations, and delivers projects end to end with clients, increasingly using AI tooling.

We are on the hunt for a talented mid-level Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) and the Power Platform developer with the ambition to grow!

Based in Auckland, Adaptable Consulting are a forward-thinking company that values innovation, collaboration, customer relationships and celebrating success. Our mission is to empower businesses with effective cutting-edge technology solutions across Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform.

We are looking for a mid-level Dynamics 365 CE / Power Platform developer to join our team, who has a solid base to build on, and is keen to keep learning and growing their skillset and delivering high-quality, elegant solutions.

In this role, you will build and extend solutions across Dynamics 365 CE solution and the Power Platform. That means model-driven and canvas apps on Dataverse, configuration across Sales, Customer Service and Field Service, automation with Power Automate, and writing custom code when configuration will not do the job. You will also build the integrations that connect Dynamics 365 to the other systems our clients run.

Artificial intelligence has changed both what our clients ask for and how we build it. AI agents and services sit inside the solutions we design, and we use AI tooling day to day in development. You will be working with it rather than reading about it, and if that is the direction you want your career to take, this is a good place to do it.

You will work alongside our consultants and directly with clients, from requirements through to testing, deployment and support, and you will see projects through rather than picking up one narrow piece of them. Keeping up with what Microsoft releases, and working out what is actually worth using, will be part of the job.

About you

Alongside a genuine interest in solving problems for customers, you will bring hands-on capability across Dynamics 365 CE and the Power Platform, clear communication, and a collaborative approach to working with both clients and internal teams. You will also demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience building and extending model-driven and canvas apps on Dataverse

  • Strong capability configuring and customising Dynamics 365 CE across Sales, Customer Service or Field Service

  • Experience automating business processes with Power Automate

  • Confidence writing custom code where configuration is not enough, and the judgement to know where that line sits

  • Experience building and troubleshooting the integrations between Dynamics 365 and the other systems a client runs

  • Sound practice around solutions, environments and moving work safely between them

  • The ability to turn a business requirement into a practical solution design, and to ask the questions that get you there

  • Experience testing your own work properly and supporting it once it is live

Beyond the technical side, you will be someone who takes ownership, finishes what you start, and would rather raise a question early than guess and rework it later. You will be comfortable being the person a client talks to, and happy to say when you do not know something yet.

In addition to having the right attitude and a genuine interest in getting better at this, the right candidate will also possess the following qualities and skills:

  • A minimum of two years' experience developing on Dynamics 365 CE and the Power Platform

  • Relevant industry certifications preferred, for example PL-200, PL-400 or PL-600

  • A genuine interest in AI, and in how it is changing both what we build and the way we build it

  • Knowledge of Power BI, reporting or integration work would be an added benefit

  • An analytical mindset and the ability to work through complex business scenarios

  • Self-motivated, with good time management and attention to detail

  • A good communicator, both written and verbal

  • A good team player, able to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients

We need you to fit in with our team, so although you must be honest, hardworking and not afraid to roll up your sleeves, we need you to enjoy having a laugh and bring your skills to both our internal team and our customers.

We offer professional development, the range of work and the people around you to grow quickly, exposure right across the Microsoft stack, flexible working arrangements, and a close-knit team of people who enjoy doing this well.

If that sounds like the move you are after, we invite you to apply now via Seek with your CV and covering letter. We are only reviewing candidates who are currently resident in New Zealand.
