D365 Finance & Operations Technical Consultant

Role Overview

We are seeking a D365 Finance & Operations Technical Consultant to design and deliver complex Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations solutions for clients. The role covers technical solution design, architecture, deployment, and end-to-end delivery.

The successful candidate will also serve as the Application Lead for assigned projects, providing technical direction while managing client expectations and supporting the commercial objectives of each engagement.


Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver complex Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations solutions.
  
• Define scalable technical architectures aligned with business and project requirements.
  
• Lead application delivery across solution design, development, deployment, and implementation.
  
• Gather, analyze, and translate technical requirements into appropriate system solutions.
  
• Act as the Application Lead and provide technical guidance to the project team.
  
• Manage client expectations and contribute to the commercial delivery of assigned engagements.
  
• Develop and customize D365 F&O solutions using X++, C#, Visual Studio, and version control tools.
  
• Implement solutions using D365 F&O capabilities such as extensions and Chain of Command.
  
• Develop and support integrations using OData, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and related technologies.
  
• Ensure development activities follow established enterprise software engineering practices.
  
• Deliver presentations and communicate technical solutions clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  

Required Technical and Functional Skills

• Strong technical expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
  
• Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting technical requirements.
  
• Proficiency in X++, C#, Visual Studio, and version control systems.
  
• Practical knowledge of D365 F&O extensions and Chain of Command.
  
• Experience developing or supporting integrations using OData and Azure Logic Apps.
  
• Solid understanding of enterprise software engineering practices within D365 F&O environments.
  
• Understanding of how D365 F&O and the Microsoft Power Platform operate within wider digital ecosystems.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  
• Results-driven and client-focused approach.
  

Advantageous Skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Dataverse and the Power Platform.
  
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions.
  
• Exposure to Azure AI services, Azure Cognitive Services, and AI-enabled tools.
  
• Broader experience with Microsoft cloud technologies and services.
  

Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: MB-200 and MB-300.
