Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented D365 Test Engineer (Quality Engineer) to support a large-scale ERP Transformation Programme centered around Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and stability of enterprise ERP solutions through comprehensive testing activities across functional, integration, regression, automation, and user acceptance testing phases. This role requires strong expertise in D365 F&O testing, defect management, test automation, and ERP integrations while working closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and cross-functional delivery teams. Key Responsibilities

• Support test planning activities and contribute to the successful execution of quality assurance strategies across D365 functional domains.
• Create, maintain, and execute detailed test cases aligned with business requirements, functional specifications, and business process models.
• Perform Functional Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Validate end-to-end business processes across D365 Finance & Operations and integrated enterprise platforms.
• Execute testing activities using appropriate security roles and role-based access controls (RBAC).
• Identify, document, track, and validate defects while ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
• Participate in defect triage sessions and provide detailed defect analysis and supporting evidence.
• Execute, maintain, and enhance automated regression testing suites.
• Analyze automation failures and determine root causes relating to application defects, scripts, integrations, or environments.
• Support integration testing involving APIs, middleware platforms, EDI transactions, and synchronization processes.
• Perform regression testing following deployments, environment refreshes, configuration changes, and release activities.
• Provide testing support and guidance to Business SMEs and Process Owners during User Acceptance Testing phases.
• Maintain test assets, testing documentation, test execution results, and defect records within Azure DevOps.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, stand-ups, reviews, planning sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, quality status, and recommendations to project stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen testing practices and quality engineering standards.
• Collaborate effectively within distributed delivery teams located across multiple regions.

Technical Expertise

• Hands-on experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) within full lifecycle ERP implementations.
• Strong expertise in Functional Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, and UAT support.
• Practical experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management, defect tracking, and test execution activities.
• Experience with test automation platforms such as Leapwork, Selenium, Tricentis, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of D365 F&O business processes across one or more domains including Finance, Supply Chain & Operations, Commercial Operations, Sales, Warehousing, Security, or Platform Administration.
• Experience testing ERP integrations involving APIs, middleware, EDI transactions, and enterprise data synchronization processes.
• Ability to interpret Functional Design Documents (FDDs), Technical Design Documents (TDDs), and Business Process Models (BPMs).
• Exposure to enterprise integration testing and validation of connected business applications.
• Knowledge of Azure API Management, Postman, Swagger, or similar API testing tools will be advantageous.
• Experience with Leapwork-based D365 automation testing will be highly preferred.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.
• Proven experience working within ERP testing and enterprise application quality assurance environments.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to produce high-quality test documentation, defect reports, and stakeholder communications.
• Comfortable working within UK business hours and collaborating with international stakeholders.
• Ability to manage priorities independently while operating within project deadlines.
• Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or modern delivery methodologies.
• Comfortable working in distributed and cross-border team environments.
• Passion for quality engineering, continuous learning, and delivering enterprise-grade solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• ISTQB or similar software testing certification.
• Experience within foodservice, retail, distribution, or supply chain sectors.
• Knowledge of performance testing concepts and tools.
• Experience testing integrations involving CRM, WMS, MDM, ERP, or document management platforms.
• Prior experience working with UK or European stakeholders and delivery teams.
