Summary
Performs laser damage testing services on optical components at Lumibird's Bozeman, MT site: assembling optical test configurations, calibrating laser diagnostic equipment, and producing customer damage-test reports. Requires hands-on laser/optics expertise plus office software proficiency.

To support our expanding operations, we are currently seeking candidates for our Bozeman, Montana site.
Fundamental responsibility of this position is to perform Damage Test services, maintenance of damage testing facilitates, and supporting Damage Testing customers with exceptional service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Performs Damage Test services on optical components, via direct customer contact from required specifications to lab capability.
•Assembles & maintains optical configurations for testing service purposes.
•Generates customer purchased laser Damage Test reports.
•Support and maintains ISO processes and procedures.
•Performs in-house calibration of laser diagnostic equipment.
•Provides laser damage technical assistance to internal & external customers.
•Assists Admin Group with order details.
•Attend trade shows and conferences as required by management.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree in physics, Engineering or an associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in electronics, optics or physical sciences and 5 years’ experience in a related field.
•Knowledge of optical and laser principles, optical component identification, cleaning, assembly and handling.
•Detailed understanding of optical components including, coating types, substrate material, focus lengths, polarization, 2nd through 5th harmonic generation, etc..
•Extensive hands-on experience with lasers and in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal generators and power meters
•Proficiency in reading and interpreting optical specifications using drawings and manuals.
•Routine use of common software applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point to produce reports and graphs is required. Experience with CRM and ERP software preferred.
•Knowledge of Export Compliance and ITAR requirements and regulations preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Ability to use fingers and hands to manipulate small parts.
•Excellent vision is required to perform job.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
