Data & AI Governance Lead – Data Science & Governance

Join a leading bank in Hong Kong as Data & AI Governance Lead, taking a key role in defining and implementing the enterprise‑wide data and AI governance framework. You will partner closely with the Head of Data Science & Governance to strengthen data quality, regulatory compliance and customer experience through better use of the bank’s data assets and AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain bank‑wide standards for data and AI governance, covering policies, processes, metrics and data architecture.
  • Drive data quality and data protection requirements, ensuring the bank’s data and analytics capabilities meet regulatory and industry best‑practice expectations.
  • Develop and execute an enterprise data and AI governance roadmap, improving efficiency, control and consistency in how data and AI are managed across functions.
  • Identify and promote new business opportunities and use cases leveraging data and AI to enhance products, operations and customer experience.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders, ensuring data‑related business needs are clearly captured and aligned with the governance framework.
  • Lead, coach and develop team members, managing performance, engagement and turnover within the data governance function.

Requirements

  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years’ experience, including 5+ years at managerial level, gained in financial services and/or Fintech organizations.
  • Proven experience establishing and monitoring data and AI governance frameworks, including data quality and data protection practices.
  • Strong knowledge of data and AI‑related regulatory requirements, emerging trends and issues, plus in‑depth understanding of banking business and local regulatory environment.
  • Solid understanding of Master Data Management concepts, technology landscape and design principles in a banking context.
  • Advanced analytical skills, able to visualize opportunities and risks from data and translate them into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and leading teams.
  • Result‑oriented, able to deliver under pressure, with strong spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
