Data & AI Operations Analyst
About the role
You will build and run the data, automation and AI foundations that the whole company works on. You report to the Business Operations Director and work as his hands-on partner.
The role covers our BigQuery data warehouse, Google Data Studio dashboards, regular and ad hoc reporting, data governance and quality, workflow automations, and our company-wide AI adoption programme. Your internal customers are the management and any team that needs data or a better process.
This suits someone who likes variety and ownership. One day you are fixing a pipeline or writing SQL; the next you are helping a team automate a manual task or work out where AI can save them hours.
What you'll do
Data warehouse and pipelines
Maintain and extend our data warehouse on Google BigQuery: datasets, tables, scheduled queries and data models.
Build and monitor pipelines from our PostgreSQL production database and third-party business tools such as HubSpot into BigQuery.
Write clean, efficient, documented SQL, and keep query cost and performance under control.
Reporting and visualisation
Design and maintain Google Data Studio dashboards for the Data team, management and other teams.
Provide datasets and regular or ad hoc reports, often delivered as spreadsheets.
Turn loosely defined requests into clear metric definitions, so the same number means the same thing everywhere.
Data governance
Manage access control across the warehouse, dashboards, shared sheets and connected tools.
Run regular access and usage audits, with particular care for sensitive customer information.
Document what data we hold, where it lives, who owns it and who can see it.
Data quality
Monitor and improve data quality across our own system, HubSpot and other third-party tools.
Find the root cause of mismatches between systems and fix them at source with the owning team.
Set up validation checks and alerts so problems surface before they reach a report.
Process automation
Build, maintain and document no-code automation workflows that connect tools across the company.
Monitor existing automations for failures, improve error handling and retire what is no longer needed.
Work with teams to spot manual, repetitive work and automate it.
System migration and integration
Support system change projects, such as switching CRM platforms or integrating two services.
Map data between old and new systems, then clean, migrate and reconcile it so nothing is lost or duplicated.
Plan and test cutovers with the affected teams, and keep reports, pipelines and automations working through the change.
Document the new setup and help users settle into it.
AI adoption
Support the Director to scope, plan and execute company-wide AI adoption for higher productivity and value creation.
Identify high-value use cases team by team, run pilots and measure the time saved or value created.
Design, build and maintain AI agents and AI-powered workflows that take on multi-step work for teams, connected to company data and tools.
Write guidelines for safe use, especially around customer data and what AI agents are allowed to access and do, and train colleagues to raise day-to-day AI skills.
What you'll bring
3–5 years in a data analyst, analytics engineer, BI or business systems role.
Strong SQL, with hands-on experience of a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery preferred) and a relational database (PostgreSQL preferred).
Experience building dashboards in Google Data Studio (formerly Looker Studio) or a similar BI tool.
Experience building data pipelines or integrations between SaaS tools through APIs, connectors or a no-code automation platform.
Advanced spreadsheet skills.
A working understanding of data governance: access control, handling of personal data and audit trails.
Real, practical use of AI tools beyond basic prompting, ideally including building or configuring AI agents, and a clear view of where they add value and where they do not.
The ability to turn a vague business request into a clear requirement, and to explain data to non-technical colleagues.
A habit of documenting your work so others can maintain it.
Comfort working independently in a small company, juggling planned projects and ad hoc requests.
Fluent written and spoken Chinese and English.
Nice to have
Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM and accounting systems, including their data models and APIs.
Python or JavaScript for scripting, data transformation or API work.
Experience rolling out AI tools or AI agents in a company or running AI training.
Experience with cloud application hosting platforms.
Experience on a system migration or integration project, such as a CRM switch.
