Job Summary
The AEG Presents Strategy Group partners with the executive team and leaders across the company, to address critical challenges and develop and execute strategies that drive business improvement. The Data Analyst works with the Chief Strategy Officer, two strategy directors, and a data scientist, across all strategic and operational areas of the AEG Presents business, with a focus on quantitative/statistical modeling and business performance analysis.
Essential Functions
- Develop predictive and statistical models to improve performance across all AEG Presents business lines, by gathering, cleansing, and analyzing data from multiple defined and undefined data sources using data extraction and analysis tools (SQL, Excel, PowerBI), and using statistical/programming tools (Python, R) to design and execute advanced analytics (regression, clustering, time series, etc.).
- Lead implementation of statistical data models into proprietary custom-built software platforms for use in AEG Presents business operations, working collaboratively with the digital team and other business stakeholders by defining requirements and developing underlying data structures.
- Design and execute financial and operational analysis by leveraging in-house and 3rd party operational, transactional, and financial data, and use visualization tools to develop business performance reports for AEG Presents management across multiple departments (e.g., festivals, venues, touring).
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree (4-year)
- 0-2 years Of related work experience
- Strong quantitative analytical skills, with the ability to derive insights from large data sets, exceptional attention to detail, and a desire to creatively solve challenging problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings from technical analysis to non-technical audiences
- General business acumen, with the ability to analyze the live events industry and recommend business improvements
- Ability to learn quickly and manage projects independently
- Proficiency in data science programming languages (Python and/or R)
- Proficiency in SQL, experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
- Music or other entertainment experience a plus, as well as a passion for music and knowledge of artists and industry trends preferred
- Familiarity with basic financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet) preferred
Payscale: $82,924.00 - $109,785.00
Bonus: This position is not eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
