About the Role
My client is seeking a Data Analyst to support analytics, reporting and data-driven decision-making within a public-sector environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to prepare and analyse data, develop dashboards and support regular performance reporting. This role is well suited to candidates who enjoy working with data, improving processes and translating information into meaningful insights to support operational and management decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Preparation & Automation
Develop and maintain Python scripts to process, clean, validate and transform raw data into structured datasets for analysis, reporting and dashboard use.
Support the automation and streamlining of recurring data preparation and reporting processes.
Perform data checks and validation to ensure the accuracy, completeness and reliability of datasets.
Dashboard Development & Maintenance
Develop and maintain dashboards using Business Intelligence (BI) tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational performance.
Analyse data trends and develop appropriate visualisations to support management reporting and decision-making.
Maintain and enhance existing dashboards based on operational and reporting requirements.
KPI Reporting & Analysis
Support the preparation of regular KPI and performance reports.
Analyse performance data, identify trends and highlight key findings or areas requiring attention.
Ensure reported information is accurate, consistent and supported by appropriate data validation.
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements.
Clarify data discrepancies, investigate issues and support the resolution of data-related queries.
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver practical analytics and dashboard solutions that meet operational needs.
Job Requirements
Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related discipline.
Experience with Python programming, data processing and data analysis.
Experience in developing dashboards using BI tools. Experience with Qlik Sense is preferred, while experience with Power BI, Tableau or other BI platforms will also be considered.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify meaningful trends and insights.
Good attention to detail, particularly when working with data validation, reporting and performance indicators.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Candidates with experience in a government, public-sector or large organisational environment will have an added advantage.
