COULD A BBC APPRENTICESHIP BE THE NEXT ROLE FOR YOU?

Join us as an apprentice at the BBC to give yourself the opportunity to kick-start your career in a job you'll love. We’re committed to your skills and talent development. You’ll learn on-the-job, developing your knowledge and skills in an area that interests you, whilst working towards your apprenticeship qualification with one of our learning providers.

WHY JOIN THIS SCHEME?

Do you enjoy maths, spotting patterns in data, or working with Excel? Kick-start your career with the BBC as a Data Analyst Apprentice. You'll work on real projects, learn from industry experts, and help shape a data-driven future. Best of all, we'll teach you Python coding from scratch, giving you valuable skills for the future. If you're curious, enjoy teamwork, and love solving problems, we'd love to hear from you.

Want to find out more? Watch recordings from our webinar series on our Life at the BBC YouTube playlist to learn more about this scheme and other opportunities we offer, and hear from current apprentices about their experiences.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM?

The Product Analytics team helps shape the future of BBC digital products using data. We uncover how audiences discover, use and engage with content, identify opportunities to improve their experience and help teams make decisions that impact millions of users every day.

You'll learn how to analyse data, answer product questions, generate insights and work with Product, Design and Technology teams to improve digital experiences for our audiences.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

As a Data Analyst apprentice (DAA27), this is brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute – you will:

  • Work with real data to uncover trends, solve problems and support decision-making.
  • Learn how data helps shape services, projects and performance across the organisation.
  • Develop skills in collecting, analysing and presenting data, turning information into clear insights.
  • Create reports and visualisations that help colleagues understand and act on data.
  • Understand the importance of data privacy, ethics and responsible data use

You’ll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means you’ll spend at least one day a week studying for a Level 4 Data Analyst qualification with our learning provider Cambridge Spark using its virtual delivery platform.

For more information on what you will study during the scheme, please see the Data Analyst apprenticeship standard.

YOUR SKILLS AND ELIGIBILITY

We’re interested in your passion for working at the BBC and your enthusiasm for delivering world-class content and operational excellence to our audiences. We’re not focused on your qualifications; instead, we look for potential and offer you the opportunity to apply your transferable strengths and experience to work in different ways.

If you can bring some of these skills and experiences, along with transferable strengths, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply:

  • Enjoy working with data, numbers and excel spreadsheets, with an interest in maths and logical thinking.
  • Have brilliant organisational skills and are great at problem-solving and negotiating
  • Can manage multiple deadlines and demands on your time
  • Have a calm and focused approach to changing circumstances
  • Have a keen interest in the BBC and how people consume content, bursting with fresh ideas to introduce new perspectives
  • Are an enthusiastic self-starter, flexible and adaptable to out-of-hours working
