I am currently representing Islington Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a ratewhich is negotiable dependent upon experience
We are looking for a Data Analyst this role will be based at: N1 1RU, - 1 day a week in the office, 4 days a week remote
The right candidate will:
- Identifyappropriatewaystocollect,collate,cleanandpreparedataforanalysis
- Assessdataqualityandindependentlypreparedataforanalysis
- Applybasicdataanalysisandsynthesis techniques
- Identifyeffectivemethodsfordatacollectionandpreparation,andpresentclear, actionable findings for colleagues.
- Utilise the most appropriate/effective data visualisation and report narratives to craft compellingstoriesthatarerelevanttobusiness goals/objectivesincluding throughuseof software including Power BI, Excel
- Effectivelycommunicatedatainsightstobothtechnicalandnon-technicalstakeholders, ensuring clarity and relevance.
- Proactivelymonitordatasystems,identifyingtrendsand addressdata-relatedissuesina timely manner.
- Adheretoorganisationaldatagovernancepoliciesincludingthosepoliciesgoverning data access, sharing, dissemination and protection
- Supportorleaddatamanagementactivitiesacrossservicesandproductsusing appropriate procedures, tools and methodologies
We require the following:
- Experience in managing and analysing datasets, cleaning data, and preparing it for analysis, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail in data handling and reporting.
- Experience working in the public sector and a good understanding of local government field, such as Children's Services, Housing, Adult Social Care, Environment, Public Health.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, or other statistical software and business intelligence tools such as Power BI
