The Data Analyst – Finance Operations plays a key role in accelerating the adoption of AI, automation and data-driven ways of working across Finance Operations, supporting Engineering, Cabin Crew, Flight Operations and Airports. Sitting at the intersection of Finance and technology, this role drives process simplification, improves data quality and delivers self-service analytics solutions that enable faster, more informed decision-making. Through these insights, the role helps shape outcomes for Finance teams, the Chief Operating Officer and the Jetstar Operations Leadership Team (JOLT). More than a traditional analyst position, this opportunity is suited to someone who is equally comfortable working with data pipelines and engaging with Finance stakeholders, and who is passionate about building solutions that transform the way people work.
The core responsibilities of this role are:
- Drive AI, automation and process improvement initiatives across Finance Operations
- Develop and maintain automated reporting, data extraction and reconciliation solutions
- Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and improve operational efficiency
- Build and manage reliable data pipelines, models and governance practices
- Deliver self-service dashboards and analytics that support business decision-making
- Partner with Finance and technology stakeholders to solve data and process challenges
- Evaluate and implement emerging AI, analytics and automation tools
- Support user adoption through training, documentation and stakeholder engagement
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Information Systems or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in data analytics, business intelligence or finance transformation roles
- Proficiency in Power BI or equivalent BI tooling (essential)
- Strong SQL and/or Python capability for data extraction, transformation and automation
- Experience with AI tools and automation platforms (e.g. Power Automate, Copilot, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with ERP and financial systems – Oracle, TM1 (desirable)
- Experience in Finance or Operations environments
