  • Support fundraising campaigns through data extraction, segmentation, suppression lists and campaign reporting
  • Build your technical skills across SQL, Salesforce, Power BI and broader business reporting, with training provided
  • Permanent | Glendenning | Hybrid

Impact of the organisation
Foodbank NSW & ACT is the state and territory’s largest food relief organisation, providing essential food assistance to individuals and families through a network of community partners across NSW and the ACT.
Our mission is to end hunger in our communities. We believe everyone should have access to the food they need, and we exist to support everyday Australians who are going without.

Foodbank sources, supplies and transports food to make it accessible to people in every corner of the state and territory. We work with more than 700 local community partners and more than 900 schools to distribute food to those facing food insecurity.

This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation where your work will directly support fundraising and broader business operations, while developing a strong foundation in data analysis within a supportive and experienced team.

The Impact you will have in this role
Behind the organisation’s frontline impact is a significant amount of data, supporting fundraising campaigns, reporting, operations and decision-making across the business. Accurate, timely and well-managed data is critical to ensuring teams can understand performance, make informed decisions and maximise the impact of their work.

Reporting to the Reporting & Data Analyst, you will provide hands-on data and reporting support across fundraising and, over time, broader areas of the organisation. This is a newly created position designed to provide additional capacity to the data and fundraising teams, with responsibility for recurring reporting and campaign data tasks, including extracting, validating and preparing data for direct mail, EDM and other fundraising campaigns.

You’ll also maintain regular reporting, including the weekly order summary and monthly Board dashboard, and respond to ad hoc data requests as your skills and confidence develop. Over time, there is scope to expand beyond fundraising data into broader operational reporting, including Power BI and Cognos-based reporting.

The role provides a genuine opportunity to develop your skills in Salesforce and Power BI, while building on your existing SQL and Excel capability. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, contribute ideas and develop your understanding of how data supports fundraising and decision-making across a purpose-driven organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract data from Salesforce using defined criteria to support fundraising campaigns and broader business requirements.
  • Prepare direct mail and EDM suppression lists, ensuring data is accurate and appropriately segmented.
  • Import targeted contacts into Salesforce Campaign Members, accurately recording campaign metadata including segments, send dates and source.
  • Support campaign segmentation, exclusion lists and acquisition data based on agreed criteria.
  • Validate campaign data to ensure it is accurate, complete and ready for distribution.
  • Complete data quality checks and support post-campaign deduplication and reconciliation of donation data with financial information.
  • Update the weekly order summary and monthly Board dashboard through Cognos/Power BI reporting.
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting and data requests from the Fundraising and Impact & Engagement teams.
  • Assist with data supplier files, including campaign data, exclusion lists and data quality checks.
  • Maintain accurate and complete campaign and supporter information within Salesforce.
  • Develop an understanding of the organisation’s data, systems and processes and how these support fundraising and operational decision-making.
  • Progressively take ownership of additional reporting and data management responsibilities as skills and confidence develop.
  • Develop capability in Power BI and broader operational reporting, including Cognos-based reporting.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in data, reporting, analytics, CRM or a similar role, or relevant practical experience.
  • A degree with a strong quantitative component, such as data science, statistics, mathematics or a closely aligned discipline.
  • Basic SQL skills are essential, including experience writing queries and an understanding of how to interpret and work with the data being extracted.
  • Intermediate Excel skills are essential, including lookups, formulas, sorting and working with datasets.
  • Experience with Power BI or another BI/reporting tool is desirable, but training can and will be provided.
  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and identify data issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to ask questions, clarify requirements and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • A curious and proactive approach, with the confidence to contribute ideas and constructively challenge existing processes where appropriate.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage recurring tasks and competing priorities within agreed timeframes.
  • A willingness to learn new systems, processes and technical skills.
  • A genuine connection to Foodbank NSW & ACT’s purpose and an interest in using data to help maximise the impact of its fundraising in supporting people experiencing food insecurity.
