Data Analyst
Summary
Data Analyst on Compass's Data & Analytics team, working cross-functionally with business partners to turn governed, centrally managed data into analyses and recommendations that drive decisions. Core skills are SQL plus basic Python (pandas/EDA), with a focus on structured problem solving and clear, actionable narratives.
At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. Founded in 2012, we’re revolutionizing the real estate industry with our end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients.
The Data & Analytics team is building Compass International Holdings' analytical platform – the governed foundation the company runs on. As a Data Analyst, you'll go beyond traditional dashboards and ticket queues – you will work cross-functionally with internal teams and business partners to leverage that foundation, delivering recommendations that drive decision-making.
We #obsess about the opportunity in front of our organization to continue building a transformative asset that unlocks insights for the company. We are looking for someone to join our team that shares in this enthusiasm and passion for leveraging data to make decisions.
At Compass You Will:
- Accelerate Decision-Making: Structure clear options and trade-offs that enable the business to act faster with clarity
- Deliver High-Impact Narratives: Package complex findings into clear narratives that give business partners the evidence and confidence to make a decision
- Unlock Data Value: Turn the organization's investment in data infrastructure into tangible business outcomes – ensuring data actively drives strategy
- Bridge Insights to Strategy: Translate traditional business intelligence and data science assets into concrete recommendations for the business
- Reframe Business Problems: Work within a project team to turn reactive requests into structured analytical questions
- Work with Trusted Data: Use your technical skills to navigate centrally managed datasets – spending your time on analysis, not data wrangling
What We Are Looking For:
- Technical Baseline: Functional proficiency in SQL and basic Python (pandas/EDA) to self-serve from centrally managed datasets
- Structured Problem Solving: Ability to break down ambiguous business questions, validate assumptions, and align on scope before diving into analysis.
- Business Curiosity: Energized by partnering with business leads, curious about unit economics and commercial drivers, and passionate about connecting technical analysis directly to financial outcomes.
- Clear Communication: Ability to package complex quantitative data into concise narratives that non-technical partners can act on immediately.
- Ownership & Growth Mindset: A self-starter who takes full accountability for their work, consistently seeks feedback, learns from setbacks, and strives for continuous growth.
- Highly Collaborative: Thrives in a cross-functional environment, partnering tightly alongside technical partners and business leads to achieve shared goals.
Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $84,000-$94,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.

Participation in our incentive programs (which may include eligible cash, equity, or commissions). Plus paid vacation, holidays, sick time, parental leave, and recharge leave; medical, tele-health, dental and vision benefits; 401(k) plan; flexible spending accounts (FSAs); commuter program; life and disability insurance; Maven (a support system for new parents); Carrot (fertility benefits); UrbanSitter (caregiver referral network); Employee Assistance Program; and pet insurance.
