Role Scope
The Data Analyst, Mandarin Translations is an entry-level individual contributor role responsible for translating financial content from
Simplified and Traditional Chinese into English. The role supports the delivery of high-quality translations for financial and market related documents originating from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, while adhering to established workflows, quality standards, and service level expectations.
The role focuses on developing strong translation fundamentals, financial terminology knowledge, and operational discipline. Analysts
are expected to accurately translate assigned content, maintain consistency through the appropriate use of Translation Memory (TM)
resources, and deliver work within established turnaround times. Guidance, coaching, and mentoring are provided by senior team
members to support professional development and progression.
As experience grows, analysts may be exposed to broader translation assignments, TM maintenance initiatives, workflow
administration activities, and emerging AI-enabled translation practices.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Operational Delivery
• Translate financial and market-related documents from Simplified and Traditional Chinese into English while
maintaining accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
• Deliver assigned translation work within established productivity, quality, and turnaround targets.
• Apply approved translation standards, terminology references, style guides, and workflow procedures when
completing assignments.
• Perform self-review of completed translations before submission to ensure quality and consistency.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work and workflow status within designated operational systems.
• Escalate translation uncertainties, terminology questions, or workflow issues to senior team members when
appropriate.
• Support ad hoc translation requests as assigned, covering a broader range of business and corporate
content.
• Utilize approved AI-enabled translation practices and operational tools in accordance with established
guidelines and quality standards.
Translation Memory & Content Management
• Utilize Translation Memory (TM) resources effectively to improve consistency and productivity.
• Support TM maintenance activities, including terminology updates, content validation, cleanup initiatives,
and improvement projects.
• Assist in maintaining translation consistency across products, workflows, and content types.
• Participate in terminology reviews and standardization initiatives as assigned.
Process Excellence
• Adhere to established SOPs, quality standards, governance requirements, and documentation practices.
• Apply feedback received from senior team members to continuously improve translation quality and reduce
repeat findings.
• Contribute ideas for workflow efficiencies, content consistency improvements, and operational
enhancements.
• Participate in operational projects, pilot initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts as required.
Stakeholder Management
• Collaborate with team members and senior analysts to clarify translation requirements and resolve
operational issues.
• Communicate progress, risks, and potential delivery challenges in a timely manner.
• Participate in team discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and workflow calibration activities.

For This Role You'll Need to Have (Skills & Competencies)
Technical Skills
• Strong written proficiency in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English.
• Ability to interpret and translate financial or business-related content accurately.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications or similar productivity tools.
• Willingness and ability to learn translation systems, workflow tools, AI-enabled solutions, and Translation
Memory platforms used by the organization.
