Data Analyst

Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Management
- Collect, cleanse, validate, and organise data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Maintain and enhance databases, data warehouses, and data systems.
- Ensure data governance and quality standards are consistently met.
Data Analysis
- Analyse large and complex financial datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and opportunities.
- Perform detailed financial and operational data analysis to support strategic business decisions.
- Develop actionable insights and recommendations based on data findings.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations for business stakeholders.
- Present findings in a clear and meaningful manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support ongoing reporting requirements and business performance monitoring.
- Partner closely with finance and business teams to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
- Work alongside technology teams to implement data-driven solutions and improvements.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, and operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in analytics and business intelligence.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Finance will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Data Analyst role within the financial services, banking, investment, insurance, or related finance sectors.
- Proven experience working with large datasets and financial reporting environments.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong SQL skills for querying, analysing, and managing data.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and automation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualisation platforms.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric including data engineering, data integration, reporting, and analytics capabilities.
- Familiarity with financial databases, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms.
