Data Analyst (Vulnerability Data and Qualys Analysis)
Summary
A ~10-week remote engagement (front-loaded into the first two weeks) where the analyst validates a corrected Qualys baseline, reconciles the asset inventory, and assesses patch/agent coverage for a UK enterprise client, sizing the non-patchable population. Core tools: Python/SQL scripting plus advanced spreadsheets and Qualys data structures.
We are looking for a Data Analyst to join a discovery and risk assessment engagement, reconciling and validating large-scale vulnerability data for a UK enterprise client.
Project: A ten-week discovery and technical assessment engagement, with this role's workload likely front-loaded into the first two weeks to validate the corrected Qualys baseline and reconcile the asset inventory.
Responsibilities:
Consume a corrected Qualys baseline and rebuild the analysis view for scoping
Validate corrected data extracts
Reconcile the asset inventory and resolve discrepancies for assets missing from the latest inventory (decommissioned vs. lost scan visibility)
Produce a tooling and agent coverage assessment across the estate
Support root-cause analysis for assets that have stopped receiving updates, some since 2023
Size the non-patchable population
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in large-scale operational or security dataset analysis
Experience reconciling data across multiple non-agreeing sources of truth
Advanced spreadsheet skills plus scripted analysis experience (Python, SQL, or equivalent)
Familiarity with Qualys data structures; exposure to Ivanti, Ninja, or comparable patch management tooling is a plus
Disciplined approach to documenting data quality limitations
Upper-Intermediate English or higher
