Data & Analytics Engineer

Summary

Build and maintain data models and dashboards for a fast-growing e-commerce yarn retailer, ensuring consistent KPIs and enabling data-driven decisions across Finance, Product, and Tech.

On Behalf of Hobbii we are looking for a Data & Analytics Engineer

About Hobbii

Hobbii is Denmark's fastest-growing e-commerce company within yarn and handicrafts. From our base in Copenhagen, we've built a global brand serving passionate makers in more than 12 markets, with an ambition to become the world's leading online yarn universe. Driven by scalable technology, creative energy, and data-driven commerce, we're turning our passion for craftsmanship into a global success story.

This is a rare chance to join a small, dedicated data team at Hobbii and turn raw, complex data into trusted, business-ready answers the whole company relies on.

About the role

You’ll work with stakeholders across Finance, Product, and Tech, serving the business with their data needs and helping users make the most of our customer-centric data. You’ll have full ownership of your data products end to end, as well as talking to and educating the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with Finance, Product and Commercial to understand what they need, and translate it into clear, trustworthy answers
  • Own shared KPI definitions such as AOV, CLV, and Margin in our Cube semantic layer, so the business measures things consistently
  • Contribute to maintaining and building SQL models and dashboards, and help key stakeholders understand the implementation
  • Build useful Metabase dashboards and utilise coding and AI tools to help answer business questions effectively
  • Contribute to the Data Dictionary so non-technical users understand what they are measuring and can explore data with confidence

Your profile

You’ve probably been the data person somewhere small before, so you’re used to owning things end to end and figuring them out yourself. You’re as curious about the business as the tech, you’d rather answer a real question than build something clever no one asked for, and you’re comfortable talking to stakeholders.

We imagine you bring:

  • Genuine business curiosity and the instinct to translate stakeholder questions into practical solutions, this matters as much as the tech
  • Experience with a modern data warehouse such as Redshift
  • Interest in semantic modelling, KPI logic, or reusable business definitions. Cube, dbt, or LookML experience is a plus
  • Curiosity about using AI and MCP for SQL support, documentation, or data exploration
  • English fluency, written and spoken, our company language
  • A relevant degree or equivalent practical background

Why join Hobbii?

At Hobbii you’ll join a tight-knit team building something global from Copenhagen, and as one of the first data hires, you’ll have unusual ownership and room to shape how we work. You’ll see the impact of your work across the business every week, with real room to grow as the data function grows. We move fast, support each other, and have a lot of fun along the way.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary based on experience and skills
  • Flexible work setup – hybrid (HQ in Nordvest, Copenhagen)
  • 6 weeks of paid vacation
  • Health insurance and paid parental leave
  • Catered lunch, great coffee, and lively Friday bars
  • Legendary company events and a welcoming, informal culture
