Data & Analytics Manager

As part of this transformation, Credit Union SA is seeking a Data & Analytics Manager to help bring this vision to life

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Data & Analytics Manager will lead the data transformation, establish and embed the enterprise data governance operating models, and lead a small team of data professionals through the transition to the target state. This is a two-year fixed-term contract role with the potential to convert to an ongoing leadership position for the right person.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Stand up and operationalise their Data Governance & Data Management Framework, including the enterprise data dictionary, data domain register, critical data element registers and lead Data Governance across their organisation.
  • Lead data quality profiling, baselining, remediation and deploy information classifications and sensitivity labelling across both structured and unstructured data.
  • Govern data for AI use, establishing AI-ready pipelines and controls.
  • Manage source system and managed-cloud data relationships, including assurance over vendor-delivered data and a clear governance.
  • Lead migration of data from source systems to the new Data Platform and decommission the legacy Data Analytics Platform.
  • Lead, develop and support a small team of data professionals, setting performance goals and fostering a high-performing culture.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration through being a member of the technology leadership team for a mutual bank
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Demonstrated experience leading a data migration or data transformation workstream, including cloud migration, modern data platforms and close collaboration with technical delivery teams.
  • Experience in a banking or highly regulated environment will be beneficial although not essential.
  • Strong practical experience rolling out and embedding a data governance framework and preferred experience working with APRA requirements.
  • Hands-on technical capability across analytics, reporting and data platforms.
  • Technical experience in SQL Server, Power BI, DAX, Python and advanced Excel.
  • Has previously built semantic models, managed ETL/ELT pipelines, SSIS packages, Azure Data Factory and related integration tools.
  • Experience with cloud migration, modern data platform architecture, data warehousing and data lakes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including the proven ability to engage across business units, manage expectations, and build sound professional relationships.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and build capability within a small, dynamic team while driving change and maintaining reliable BAU reporting.
