Senior Product Owner

The Senior Product Owner is responsible for translating business requirements into actionable technical tasks for a Scrum Agile development team. This role involves maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring that stories are clear and detailed for high-quality software development. The Senior Product Owner acts as a bridge between the development team and business stakeholders, managing expectations and resolving technical issues. They specialize in one of the following areas: back-office revenue solutions, front-end systems, transport-specific solutions, or data products.

Knowledge

A thorough understanding of scrum agile development principles, with a willingness to adapt and learn.

• Strong Scrum Agile knowledge, adaptable and eager to learn.
• Essential expertise in business intelligence, data warehousing, modeling, and big data.
• Software development and delivery experience.
• Product Ownership certification is a plus.
• Relevant degree or technical qualification.
• Familiarity with agile tools like Team Foundation Server.
• Understanding of IT legislation, including Data Protection and FOIA.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Product Manager/Owner in an agile team.
• Experience delivering products in TfL categories.
• Successful track record in dynamic environments, managing multiple tasks on time and within budget.
• Desirable: Knowledge of public transport operations.
• Extensive expertise in requirements gathering, analysis, and validation, especially in data warehouse implementations and reporting.
