About the Role and Team

The Community Operations organization at Uber is where real people solve real problems in real time. As a senior member of the Data & Analytics team, you are more than an analyst; you are a strategic partner who turns massive, messy datasets into a competitive advantage for our global support network. You’ll build statistical models, scalable automation pipelines, and robust tools that allow us to move with both urgency and care, ensuring our leadership makes high-stakes decisions based on rigorous evidence rather than intuition.

Success in this role requires a mindset that thrives on complexity and the grit to navigate technical debt and shifting priorities. You’ll need to balance deep-dive data mining with strong stakeholder management, often leading projects end-to-end, leveraging automation to eliminate manual workflows, and mentoring others to raise the bar for the entire team. If you are a technical leader who stays calm under pressure and is motivated by the challenge of solving the "hard stuff" in a high-stakes environment, this is where you’ll grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Conceptualize and build high-impact, automated reports and dashboards that serve as the single source of truth for global operational efficiency.

  • Perform advanced data mining and statistical modeling to identify hidden trends and operational weaknesses, unblocking inefficiencies before they impact our users.

  • Design and implement Robotic Process Automation (RPA) workflows alongside custom Go and Python scripts to eliminate operational bottlenecks and streamline data ingestion pipelines.

  • Lead business deep dives to generate actionable insights, translating complex technical findings into clear narratives that guide leadership through ambiguous trade-offs.

  • Build and maintain scalable, high-performance tools and services using Go and Python that empower our operational teams to make data-backed decisions in real time.

  • Measure the real-world impact of new processes and policy changes, providing the quantitative proof needed to scale or pivot our support strategies.

  • Mentor and train team members on technical best practices in SQL, Go, Python, and automated data processing, fostering a culture of engineering and analytical excellence.

  • Navigate and align conflicting stakeholder priorities, managing projects end-to-end to ensure analytical solutions are delivered at speed.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with web-based query tools.

  • Hands-on scripting experience with Python and Go (Golang) for data manipulation, process automation, and system integration.

  • Practical knowledge and applied experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) frameworks and tools.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI).

  • Proven stakeholder management skills and basic project management experience.

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience using Python, Go, and RPA to build end-to-end predictive models, robust data pipelines, and automated workflow solutions.

  • Experience with Google Scripting or similar platform scripting tools to automate internal workflows and increase team velocity.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate high-ambiguity environments and lead through influence rather than control.

  • Systems-thinking approach with a track record of building long-lasting software and data artifacts that reduce technical debt.
