Combining business analytics with artificial intelligence architecture, this role delivers actionable business insights while constructing automated AI workflows to drive operational performance. The focus spans full-cycle data management and intelligent automation, creating internal systems and client-facing features that streamline reporting processes. Working with cross-functional teams, the position transforms complex data pipelines into clear, actionable business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain routine management reports and operational analytics dashboards to evaluate primary business metrics.

Write and optimise advanced SQL queries utilizing stored procedures, materialised views, window functions, and performance tuning techniques.

Design and build AI agents to automate internal analytics, reporting processes, and operational workflows.

Deploy customer-facing AI agent capabilities and features to enhance end-user data interaction.

Implement large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering strategies, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) frameworks over enterprise datasets.

Integrate artificial intelligence agents with APIs, internal databases, and core application systems.

Establish monitoring, evaluation metrics, and safety validation protocols for AI agents to ensure ongoing output precision.

Construct automated workflows using process automation platforms and implement proof-of-concept solutions using ETL frameworks and containerisation.

Maintain accurate process documentation and utilise version control systems for code and reporting collaboration.

Collaborate across business divisions to gather functional requirements and deliver targeted data solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analysis, Finance, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence, or data-centric analytical role.

Hands-on experience building or developing solutions with AI agents, LLM integrations, or automation systems.

Strong technical proficiency in SQL (specifically Postgre SQL) and Python for data transformation, analytics, and automation.

Practical understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, RAG architectures, and model evaluation protocols.

Demonstrated experience using data visualisation/BI tools alongside advanced Excel functions (Power Query, Power Pivot, data modeling).

Working knowledge of APIs, automation platforms, Docker, and Git Hub.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strict attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Previous experience within the Fintech or Saa S sectors.

Working experience within the South African financial services or financial planning domain.
