Data and Insights Lead – Production Chemistry (Permian)

Entry–Mid Level | Full-Time | Location: Permian Basin, TX – field travel as needed

Department: Information Technology | Reports to: IT Director | Supports: Permian East & West Operations

Company Overview

Aegis Chemical Solutions is a leading oilfield chemical company delivering specialty chemistry and technical services across major U.S. production basins. Our Production Chemistry group supports operators across the Permian West and Permian East districts, managing chemical treatment programs that optimize well performance and production uptime. This role sits within IT and partners closely with Permian East and West operations to build out the data infrastructure and analytics capability that support smarter, faster decisions in the field and in the boardroom.

Position Summary

Aegis Chemical Solutions is seeking an entry–mid level Data and Insights Lead, reporting to the IT Director, to support the Permian East and West Production Chemistry operations by managing, cleaning, and organizing production and chemical program datasets, and by building reporting and dashboards that give district and corporate leadership clear visibility into well performance and chemical program outcomes. This person centralizes the work around the monthly review cycle — validating data before it reaches leadership, standardizing the review package, and tracking action items to closure — so district managers can stay focused on field execution. This role is a strong fit for someone with hands-on experience working with oilfield production data (volumes, well tests, injection/disposal records, chemical treatment logs) and practical skill building visualizations and dashboards in Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate data before it travels: investigate missing, incorrect, or questionable data and resolve discrepancies before it reaches management review.
  • Prepare a consistent monthly review package: standardize charts, KPIs, trends, and failure summaries into a leadership-ready PowerPoint.
  • Own action-item tracking from monthly reviews: document owners and due dates, follow up, and verify timely completion — without doing the actions.
  • Carry continuity from meeting to meeting by feeding prior status and outcomes into the next review so commitments do not disappear.
  • Collect, clean, validate, and organize production and field operations datasets from multiple sources (field reports, SCADA/well test data, service tickets, third-party data feeds, and internal databases).
  • Build, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards and reports that track production trends, chemical program performance, and district-level KPIs for operations and business development stakeholders.
  • Own the accuracy and integrity of recurring datasets and reports, including well-level production data, chemical treatment and dosage data, and Permian East and West district roll-ups.
  • Partner with Permian East and West operations teams and field personnel to ensure data is captured consistently and completely, and troubleshoot data quality issues at the source.
  • Support the Weekly Operations Summary and other recurring reporting cadences by consolidating Permian East and West data into consistent, leadership-ready formats.
  • Develop and document data workflows, naming conventions, and templates to standardize how production and service data is tracked across districts.
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests from operations, business development, and executive leadership with accurate, well-organized analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual data processes and improve the reliability and speed of reporting.
