Data Architect / Analytics Engineer (Databricks)

Summary

Designs and deploys scalable data models and analytics solutions on Databricks for healthcare providers, transforming raw data into actionable insights using SQL, Python, and cloud platforms.

We are currently looking for a Data Architect / Analytics Engineer (Databricks) to join an advanced analytics initiative for leading healthcare provider organizations. This role will focus on designing scalable data models and deploying analytics solutions on Databricks and related platforms, working closely with client stakeholders and internal delivery teams.

Location: Remote, United States

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with raw data to transform it into meaningful, actionable information
  • Design data models that scale in size and complexity
  • Develop and deploy analytics solutions to meet customer needs
  • Guide clients through complex or unfamiliar technology requirements, turning ambiguous information into actionable plans
  • Write, debug, and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts
  • Travel required: for the initial project kickoff, followed by quarterly visits.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience reading and writing SQL, with the ability to write, debug, and tune queries
  • Deep knowledge of relational data modeling and the ability to think architecturally when creating, growing, maintaining, and documenting scalable data models
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Microsoft SQL Server, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or similar cloud/big data platforms
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and ability to build trust within a team
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage multi-faceted work streams efficiently
  • Self-motivated, able to manage personal schedule, meet deadlines, and monitor own work quality
  • Highly adaptable, able to quickly acclimate to new projects and work environments
  • Creative problem-solver who collaborates well with others
  • Clear, concise communicator in both written and verbal form
  • Proactive — anticipates issues, addresses concerns early, escalates when needed

Nice to Have:

  • Healthcare industry knowledge or experience
  • Experience with C#, Python, or general programming
  • Familiarity with SQL Server hardware/software configuration best practices
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Knowledge of cloud-based services (AWS, Azure)
