About the Role

We are seeking a highly accomplished and forward-thinking Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Data Technologies & Artificial Intelligence to drive enterprise data and AI strategy. This role requires deep expertise in modern data platforms, cloud-based data engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor, solution architect, and technology leader, enabling business transformation through innovative data-driven solutions.

As a key technical authority, you will design scalable data ecosystems, lead AI and machine learning initiatives, establish governance frameworks, and provide strategic direction on emerging technologies, ensuring the organization and its clients remain at the forefront of digital innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive enterprise data and AI strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Provide thought leadership on emerging trends in data engineering, analytics, machine learning, Generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and value creation through data and AI solutions.

Data Architecture & Engineering

• Design and oversee the implementation of end-to-end data architectures, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers.
• Architect and optimize modern data platforms, leveraging Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Lakehouse architectures, and cloud-native technologies.
• Establish scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines to support analytics and AI workloads.
• Lead the evaluation, selection, development, and deployment of machine learning and AI solutions.
• Drive initiatives involving predictive analytics, Generative AI, LLMs, intelligent automation, and advanced data science methodologies.
• Ensure AI models are designed, trained, validated, and deployed to deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Guide model lifecycle management, monitoring, optimization, and continuous improvement.

Governance & Best Practices

• Establish and enforce best practices for data quality, data governance, metadata management, and data security.
• Define standards for data modeling, AI governance, MLOps, and DevOps practices.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, reproducibility, and compliance of enterprise data and AI solutions.

Technical Leadership

• Serve as the organization's primary technical expert for data technologies and AI platforms.
• Mentor architects, engineers, data scientists, and technical teams across multiple programs.
• Conduct architecture reviews, technology assessments, and solution assurance activities.
• Provide guidance on technology selection, solution design, and implementation approaches.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with business leaders, clients, and delivery teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Support pre-sales activities, solution proposals, capability demonstrations, and strategic engagements.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience in enterprise data architecture, data engineering, and analytics platforms.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML frameworks and tools, including Generative AI and LLM technologies.
• Expertise in cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proficiency in modern data technologies including:
• Data Lakes and Data Warehouses
• ETL/ELT Frameworks
• Databricks
• Kafka
• SQL and NoSQL Databases
• Data Governance and Metadata Management Tools
• Hands-on experience with MLOps, model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Leadership & Consulting Skills

• Proven ability to lead large-scale data and AI transformation programs.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring technical teams and driving technical excellence across organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise-scale AI and Generative AI implementations.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI frameworks and governance practices.
• Relevant certifications in Cloud, Data Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or Data Architecture.
• Experience working in consulting, system integration, or digital transformation environments.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
