About the Opportunity

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Power BI and Data Architecture professional who enjoys balancing strategic solution design with hands‑on development. You’ll support a large‑scale public sector or healthcare environment, helping shape a modern analytics solution that turns complex data into reliable, actionable insights.

You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and developers to design scalable architecture while delivering high‑quality reporting solutions. The role is approximately 40% data architecture and 60% hands‑on Power BI development.

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll develop solution architecture documentation, data flow diagrams, conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• You’ll design Databricks Lakehouse architecture, Power BI semantic models, security models and Row‑Level Security.
• You’ll establish data governance, lineage, performance, capacity, non‑functional requirements and CI/CD architecture.
• You’ll build Power BI dashboards and reports, including DAX measures and KPIs.
• You’ll integrate Databricks data sources and optimize reporting performance.
• You’ll support testing, deployment, technical documentation and knowledge transfer.

Skills and Qualifications

• 7+ years of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics experience, including 5+ years of Power BI development.
• 7+ years of data architecture experience, including dimensional modeling, star schemas and enterprise data warehouse design.
• 3+ years of Ontario Public Service or healthcare experience is required.
• Expert‑level DAX, Power Query, Power BI semantic modeling, advanced SQL and data warehouse development skills.
• Strong expertise with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse and SQL Server.
• Proven experience with data governance, security, RLS, performance optimization and enterprise reporting architecture.
• Strong business analysis, stakeholder management, leadership, mentoring, problem‑solving and communication skills.
