Data Architect - SC Cleared

Summary

Designs and maintains enterprise data architecture, data warehouses, and lakehouse solutions using cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.

Salary: £137,500 - 150,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Active SC Clearance is essential.
  • Experience in enterprise data architecture.
  • Experience with data warehousing, data lakes and lakehouse solutions.
  • Strong background in data modelling and data governance.
  • Experience designing ETL/ELT architectures.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with data virtualisation.
  • Experience with analytics and BI platforms such as Power BI, SAS or R.
  • Experience with APIs and data integration.
  • Experience working in Agile, DevOps and CI/CD delivery environments.
  • Experience delivering large-scale public sector or regulated industry programmes is highly beneficial.
Responsibilities:
  • Design enterprise data architectures, including data modelling, governance, metadata, lineage and quality.
  • Define modern data platforms, including data lakes, data warehouses and lakehouse architectures.
  • Design ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
  • Advise on cloud-based data platforms, virtualisation and modern analytics architectures.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from design through to implementation.
  • Support architecture governance, best practice and technical assurance.
  • Work with engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions across Agile environments.

We are supporting a major UK public sector digital transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join a high-profile delivery team designing enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions. This is a 6-month contract role based in Telford with a hybrid working pattern of 2 days onsite per week. The role is inside IR35, with a day rate of £550 to £600. We are offering an opportunity to work on a significant transformation programme alongside technical teams and senior stakeholders, helping to shape secure, scalable and governed data solutions.
