Data Architect - SC Cleared

Outside IR35: £500 per day
Hybrid - circa 1 dpw in London
ASAP start - 5 months initial

We are recruiting a hands-on Data Architect to develop a trusted enterprise view of a large public-sector technology estate. You will design and implement the underlying data model, defining how information about services, systems and platforms is captured, governed and maintained. The role combines practical delivery with stakeholder engagement across product, architecture, engineering, security, commercial and supplier teams.

Role responsibilities

• Define and implement an enterprise data model covering services, systems, platforms and their relationships.
• Establish data ownership, stewardship, governance and lifecycle principles.
• Design approaches for collecting, validating and maintaining architecture data.
• Evaluate enterprise architecture tools and support implementation of the chosen solution.
• Gather stakeholder requirements and define priority data domains.
• Develop sustainable processes and responsibilities for maintaining trusted information.
• Establish data-quality controls covering completeness, ownership and accuracy.
• Enable reporting, analysis, strategic planning and investment decisions.

Key experience and requirements

• Experience designing enterprise data models across large, complex technology estates.
• Strong knowledge of metadata management, information architecture, data ownership and governance.
• Experience taking data models from concept through to implementation and operation within Agile working environments.
• Experience with enterprise architecture or configuration-management tools; LeanIX, Ardoq, Alfabet or ServiceNow CMDB would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of data quality, lineage and lifecycle management.
• AWS knowledge strongly preferred
• Strong stakeholder-management skills; central-government or wider public-sector experience is desirable.
• Active SC clearance mandatory
