Senior Data Architect – Data Migration & Remediation

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Architect to join a major enterprise platform transformation program on a long-term day-rate contract.

You will lead critical data quality remediation, modelling and migration workstreams, supporting the transition from a complex legacy SQL Server platform to a modern AWS-hosted, event-driven architecture.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the data quality remediation and migration strategy
• Analyse and resolve data quality issues across legacy databases
• Reverse-engineer business logic within stored procedures, triggers and replication processes
• Design data models and staging structures
• Map data from legacy SQL Server through staging and into the target platform
• Define migration reconciliation, validation and error-handling processes
• Validate PostgreSQL event schemas and DynamoDB read models
• Maintain detailed data lineage and field-level mapping
• Work closely with external vendors, engineers, DBAs and business stakeholders
• Drive migration readiness through to production delivery

Required experience:

• 8+ years’ experience in data architecture
• Extensive SQL Server and T-SQL expertise
• Proven ownership of complex, large-scale data migrations
• Strong data quality remediation experience
• PostgreSQL and JSONB data modelling
• Event sourcing and CQRS architecture
• DynamoDB data modelling and access-pattern design
• AWS data services, including RDS and DMS or equivalent migration tools
• Data lineage, reconciliation and migration validation
• Experience working with external technology vendors or systems integrators

This role suits a delivery-focused architect who can operate strategically while remaining close to the technical detail.

Engagement: Day-rate contract through to July 2027 (likely extension)
