Data & Business Analyst (2 Positions)
Full-time | Fixed-term, 2 years | Gisborne, Tairāwhiti
We're looking for two experienced Data & Business Analysts to help deliver a major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation that will transform how Gisborne District Council works.

Mō te tūranga | About the position
As a Data & Business Analyst, you'll play a key role in ensuring our data is accurate, reliable and ready for our new ERP platform.
Working across multiple business areas, you'll partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements, analyse legacy data, develop migration solutions, and ensure high-quality data is transferred into our new system. Your work will directly support business continuity, informed decision-making, and the long-term success of the ERP programme.

Working closely with business stakeholders to understand and document data requirements
Analyse, cleanse, transform and validate data for ERP migration
Develop and maintain data mapping specifications and transformation rules
Identify and resolve complex data quality issues
Support testing, validation and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Promote strong data governance and data quality practices
Collaborate with technical teams, vendors and project leads to deliver successful migration outcomes
Recommend improvements that enhance reporting, data quality and business processes
Ngā Pūkenga me Ngā Wheako e Hiahia ana | Skills and experience required:
You'll bring a blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking and strong relationship-building skills.
Ideally, you'll have:
A tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline
Three or more years' experience in data analysis, data migration, business intelligence or ERP implementation
Advanced SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
Experience with data migration, ETL processes, data mapping and validation
Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Experience using tools such as SQL, Power BI and Excel
Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical information into practical business solutions
Experience with TechnologyOne, local government or enterprise business transformation programmes will be highly regarded.
