Data Center Associate Engineers/ Site Technicians

Our client is a leading Data Center operator working closely with hyperscalers across APAC, expanding aggressively (beyond 200MW expansion in plan for the next couple of years), currently seeking for an Associate Engineer/ Technician to join their growing team. They are working with most of the leading hyperscalers and have around a billion USD in funding to help their rapid expansion.

As the Associate Engineer/ Site Technician, you will be serving as first line of response for all incidents, ensuring timely action, escalation, and resolution in accordance with SLAs, criticality, and impact. The successful candidate will have good technical and functional knowledge of data center infrastructure to include electrical and mechanical systems, fire detection and protection systems, building management systems, equipment maintenance, space planning, construction of critical facilities environment.

Responsibilities:

Data Center Operations Management:

· Serve as the first line of response for all incidents, ensuring timely action, escalation, and resolution in accordance with SLAs, criticality, and impact. · Fulfill customer service requests and manage related systems (e.g., Electronic Visitation Management System). · Provide remote hands support, including media handling, device reboots, visual inspections, and basic network/HDD connectivity tasks. · Lead Business Continuity Plan (BCP) exercises and act as the primary incident responder. · Manage data center equipment logistics, including asset tracking, tagging, labeling, and movement. · Perform rotational shift duties to support 24/7/365 operations.

Data Center Facilities Management:

· Monitor and ensure the normal function of all critical facilities infrastructure (e.g., UPS, power distribution, cooling, humidity control, water detection sensors). · Proactively maintain and verify the operation of supporting systems such as the Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) and Access Control Systems. · Coordinate planned maintenance, shutdowns, and repairs with vendors and internal stakeholders. · Uphold all critical environment procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method of Procedures (MOPs), and Emergency Response Procedures (ERPs). · Maintain accurate documentation, generate operational reports, and manage change control processes.

Incident, Change & Customer Service:

· Own the end-to-end incident management process, from logging to closure, including contributing to Root Cause Analyses (RCAs). · Raise and manage Change Requests (RFCs) and customer notifications for service maintenance. · Liaise directly with internal and external customers to ensure contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met. · Manage physical access clearances and participate in facility-related projects as required.

Requirements:

· Diploma in Electrical & Electronics, Computer & Communications Engineering, Information & Digital Technologies, or a related technical field. · Candidates with a Technical Education (e.g., ITE) and at least 5 years of relevant experience managing 24x7 data center operations will also be considered. · Solid functional knowledge of data center infrastructure, including electrical/mechanical systems, fire protection, and Building Management Systems (BMS). · Analytical & Proactive: Strong problem-solving skills with a positive, forward-thinking attitude. · Resilient Performer: Ability to multitask, work independently under pressure, and re-prioritize dynamically in a fast-paced environment. · Effective Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with customers, vendors, and team members. · Process-Oriented Team Player: A collaborative individual who strictly adheres to procedures while being able to work autonomously. Well-organized with meticulous attention to detail.
