Job Description
What will you do?
- Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the management and maintenance of the physical and virtual/cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, network devices, power and cooling systems.
- Ensure that the data center infrastructure is secure, reliable, scalable, and meets the organization's business and operational needs.
- Plan, implement, and upgrade infrastructure to ensure it meets performance and capacity requirements.
- Work with delivery team to support day-to-day cloud operations and contribute to cloud projects.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate with other departments, including IT, network operations, security, and facilities, to ensure smooth data center operations.
- Define and enforce operational standards and best practices for data center staff.
- Capacity Planning and Optimization:
- Monitor data center performance, capacity, and usage to forecast future infrastructure needs and proactively address potential issues.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing the use of data center resources, including space, power, cooling, and network bandwidth.
- Project Management:
- Lead and/or collaborate on the planning and execution of various infrastructure projects, including data center builds, expansions, and migrations.
- Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
- Track and report progress on key milestones, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure the data centre and cloud operations meets industry standards and complies with relevant security, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
- Implement physical security measures and work with security teams to ensure data integrity and access control.
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for data center operations.
- Troubleshooting and Incident Management:
- Oversee troubleshooting efforts and ensure quick resolution of any infrastructure issues or outages.
- Develop and maintain incident response procedures to minimize downtime and ensure recovery objectives are met.
- Maintain root cause analysis and continuous improvement processes for infrastructure incidents.
- Cost Management:
- Oversee the budget for data center infrastructure, identifying opportunities for cost reduction while ensuring system performance and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and manage relationships with service providers.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for all infrastructure components and processes.
- Generate and present reports on infrastructure health, performance metrics, and project status to senior leadership.
- Ensure accurate asset tracking and reporting for all infrastructure components.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure that the data center complies with safety regulations and that all staff are trained in safety protocols.
- Ensure proper maintenance of fire suppression systems and environmental monitoring devices.
Qualifications
TheIdealCandidateShouldPossess:
- Certification in data center operations, such as Data Center Management Professional (DCMP), Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP), or similar.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Ansible, Python, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge and experience of disaster recovery planning and business continuity management.
- KnowledgeofITSM/ITIL.
- Microsoft AzureCertifiedAdministrator or equivalent with minimum 3 years hands-on cloud administrator.
- AWShands-on experience & familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standard added advantage.
