The Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for executing electrical commissioning activities on mission-critical data center projects under the direction of senior engineers, discipline leads, and project managers.
The Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for executing electrical commissioning activities on mission-critical data center projects under the direction of senior engineers, discipline leads, and project managers.
This role focuses on safe execution, accurate documentation, and disciplined testing.
- Execute electrical commissioning activities as assigned by Senior Engineers or Leads
- Perform Pre-Functional Checks (PFCs), including L2/L3 readiness inspections
- Execute Functional Performance Testing (FPT) per approved procedures
- Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST), including power failure scenarios
- Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, and controls teams during testing
- Document test results, deficiencies, and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate, timely commissioning documentation

Technical Competencies
- Foundational understanding of electrical power distribution systems
- Familiarity with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and electrical equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-lines and schematics
- Understanding of basic redundancy and failure concepts
- Willingness to learn commissioning processes and tools

Education & Experience Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2–7 years of experience in electrical systems, construction, or commissioning
Preferred:
- Mission-critical or data center experience
- Prior exposure to commissioning or testing activities

Certifications (Preferred)
- OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Construction Safety
