Data Center Engineer (Cooling)

We are looking for a dedicated Cooling Services Operations Specialist to provide onsite operational support for a high-performance computing and AI environment. This resident role will focus on ensuring the effective operation, monitoring, and maintenance of cooling and environmental systems critical to supporting advanced compute infrastructure.

The successful candidate will act as the primary onsite specialist for cooling-related operations, helping maintain service reliability and supporting the platform's transition into steady-state operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for cooling infrastructure supporting HPC and AI systems.
• Monitor environmental performance, thermal conditions, and cooling system health.
• Support planned maintenance activities, inspections, and change implementation.
• Assist with incident response and troubleshooting of cooling-related issues.
• Work closely with facilities, infrastructure, and platform operations teams.
• Support operational readiness activities and service optimisation initiatives.
• Maintain operational procedures, documentation, and maintenance records.
• Help identify and mitigate environmental and cooling risks.
• Contribute to problem management and root cause analysis activities.
• Deliver knowledge transfer and handover support to the customer operations team.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting critical cooling infrastructure within data centre or high-density compute environments.
• Strong understanding of cooling technologies, environmental controls, and thermal management principles.
• Experience monitoring and maintaining cooling systems in operational environments.
• Knowledge of incident, change, and operational management processes.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot environmental or cooling-related issues.
• Experience working alongside facilities management and technical operations teams.
• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
• Experience supporting HPC, AI, or GPU-intensive environments.
• Understanding of liquid cooling technologies and high-density rack deployments.
• Familiarity with data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
• Knowledge of power, cooling, and environmental monitoring systems.
• Relevant facilities, mechanical engineering, or data centre certifications.
