Overview

As a Data Center Engineer, you will design, deploy, and maintain data centre infrastructure for a leading quantitative trading client. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, 24/7 data access and reliability, enabling fast trading and data-driven decisions. This role combines hands-on engineering with project management across colocation facilities and vendor ecosystems. You will help scale and secure critical data assets in a collaborative, high-tech environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design deployment plans for new equipment using data centre best practices
  • Manage procurement, shipping, and inventory of equipment, cabling, and parts
  • Install and configure server OS with Linux for network deployment
  • Install, cabling, configuring, and troubleshooting various network and server equipment
  • Ensure security, documentation, organization, safety, and cleanliness in data centre operations
Key requirements
  • 4+ years of data centre experience with cabling, vendor management, and best practices
  • Self-starter mindset with initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication
  • Ability to troubleshoot dark fibre connectivity
  • Experience managing projects
  • Networking fundamentals (switching, routing, Layer 2/3 troubleshooting)
  • Linux
  • Experience with various server and network hardware
  • Ability to design, deploy, test, and troubleshoot copper and fibre cabling
  • Willingness to travel 3–4 weeks per year and work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends
