Data Center Engineer

Our client, a leading global technology organisation, is seeking a Data Centre Technician to join their infrastructure operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large-scale, mission-critical data centre environment supporting cutting-edge technology and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment, installation, movement and decommissioning of server and network hardware.
  • Coordinate rack turn-up activities and ensure infrastructure capacity requirements are met.
  • Assess and manage data centre space, power and cooling considerations for new deployments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, cabling and infrastructure-related issues.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, facilities and project teams to support infrastructure initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate asset, inventory and operational documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within data centre operations.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working within a data centre, infrastructure or critical operations environment.
  • Knowledge of server hardware, storage systems, networking equipment and cabling.
  • Understanding of power, cooling and capacity management within a data centre environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and infrastructure issues.
  • Exposure to Linux or server operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
