About the Role
VIONDATA PARTNERS PTE. LTD. is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Center Hands & Feet Technician to provide on-site operational support within a mission-critical data centre environment.
You will work closely with remote engineering, infrastructure and network teams to support the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of IT equipment while ensuring high availability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Data Centre Operations
- Perform routine inspections and health checks of data centre facilities and IT equipment.
- Monitor servers, racks, storage systems, network devices and environmental conditions.
- Execute remote hands requests from engineering teams, customers and vendors.
- Support maintenance activities and infrastructure upgrades.
Hardware Support
- Rack and stack servers, storage systems, switches, routers and firewalls.
- Install, replace and upgrade hardware components including hard drives, memory modules, power supplies, NICs and optical transceivers.
- Perform basic hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Cabling & Connectivity
- Install, test and label copper and fibre optic cabling.
- Perform network patching and structured cabling activities.
- Maintain cable management standards and documentation.
Incident & Change Support
- Respond to incidents and service requests within agreed SLA timelines.
- Support approved change implementation activities.
- Escalate complex technical issues to engineering teams.
- Update ticketing systems with accurate work logs and status updates.
Asset & Inventory Management
- Maintain hardware inventory and spare parts records.
- Conduct rack space and equipment audits.
- Track asset movements and hardware disposal activities.
Vendor Coordination & Compliance
- Escort vendors within secure data centre facilities.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries and installations.
- Follow security, access control, EHS and ITIL operational procedures.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a data centre or IT infrastructure environment.
- Experience with server installation, rack & stack and structured cabling.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics or a related discipline.
Skills
- Knowledge of server hardware and networking equipment.
- Experience with structured copper and fibre cabling.
- Basic hardware troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira or Remedy.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
