Data Center QA/QC Specialist
Summary
Performs independent QA/QC inspections for data center builds, verifying MEP installations, testing, and documentation meet design and safety standards to reduce rework and support commissioning.
The QA/QC Specialist provides independent quality assurance and quality control oversight for mission-critical data center projects.
- Execute Pre-Functional Checks (PFCs), including L2/L3 readiness inspections, from a QA/QC perspective
- Verify compliance with construction documents, specifications, and owner standards
- Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), test records, and turnover documentation
- Track deficiencies, nonconformances, and corrective actions through resolution
- Coordinate with commissioning, construction, and owner teams to resolve quality issues
- Support readiness assessments prior to energization, FPT, and IST
- Prepare clear, defensible QA/QC reports and audit documentation
Technical Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards
- Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection processes
- Understanding of commissioning workflows and readiness gates
- Attention to detail and ability to identify installation and documentation gaps
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- 2–12+ years of experience in construction quality, commissioning, or mission-critical delivery
- Demonstrated experience performing QA/QC inspections on complex MEP systems
Preferred:
- Data center or high-reliability infrastructure experience
- Experience working alongside commissioning teams
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
