Summary
On-site server hardware technician providing break/fix, installation, and maintenance for Dell PowerEdge and other enterprise servers, minimizing downtime for customers.
What You’ll Do
1. Provide on-site technical support for Dell PowerEdge and other enterprise server hardware
2. Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures and system issues to minimize customer downtime
3. Perform hands-on hardware installation, removal, replacement, and repair, including:
1. Memory/DIMMs
2. CPUs/processors
3. Power supplies
4. Fans and cooling components
5. Hard drives/SSDs
6. RAID/HBA components
7. NICs and other PCIe components
8. GPUs and accelerator hardware
9. Motherboards/system boards and other server components
4. Perform rack-and-stack, server installation, cabling, component swaps, and hardware configuration
5. Troubleshoot issues involving server hardware, BIOS/firmware, operating systems, and hardware diagnostics
6. Perform firmware and BIOS updates and utilize server management tools such as Dell iDRAC or comparable platforms
7. Execute both reactive break/fix and preventive maintenance following established procedures
8. Troubleshoot and isolate hardware failures using documented diagnostic procedures and technical resources
9. Work directly with customers and internal technical teams during service events to communicate status, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolution
10. Accurately document service activities, hardware replacements, troubleshooting steps, and resolution details
11. Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate
12. Participate in on-call rotations and provide extended coverage as required.
