Summary
Data Center Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots servers, network devices, and cabling; manages inventory, hardware lifecycle, and data center procedures.

For one of our clients, we are looking for a Data Center Technician.
Data Center Technician (DCT), Supplementary Profile (SUPPPRO). Profile domains: Monitoring & Reporting & Maintenance. One-time request for service.
REQUIREMENTS
Hands-on experience with server and network device installation
Understanding of rack layouts, PDUs, cabling standards, and labelling
Basic networking knowledge (LAN, patching, switches)
Familiarity with asset management and inventory systems
Ability to follow change management and data center procedures
Basic troubleshooting of hardware components
Strong documentation and reporting skills
Proficiency in "Rack & Stack" procedures
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
Manual Handling proficiency (lifting up Data Center & IT heavy equipment)
Ability to work in a data center environment (noise, cold, confined spaces)
Driving license cat. B
RESPONSIBILITES
Commissioning & decommissioning, installation: physically installing Data Center components, servers, network switches; performing initial power-on tests.
Cabling: ongoing verification and upkeep of DC cabling, correct routing through designated pathways, secure mounting/fastening, accurate end-to-end labelling for power and network runs.
Stores & logistics: maintaining a tidy DC store, accepting deliveries, ensuring equipment is ready for further processing after arrival, owning the whole hardware lifecycle including commissioning and decommissioning.
Audit & reporting: regular inventory audits, updating asset registers, detailed reporting on capacity and hardware health when needed.
Hardware maintenance: replacing faulty components, managing the RMA process in cooperation with the DC Contract Manager.
Capacity planning: planning rack layouts, overseeing third-party contractors when requested.
Documentation: maintaining the maintenance management system, preparing notifications for planned maintenance windows.
Preparing and performing changes to the Data Centre and IT core infrastructure.
