Data Centre Capacity Engineer
Summary
Manages data centre capacity planning for space, power, cooling, and racks to support business growth and resilience, using DCIM tools and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsible for forecasting, planning, and managing data centre capacity across space, power, cooling, and rack infrastructure to support business growth, operational resilience, and future infrastructure deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop capacity forecasts and plans for space, power, cooling, and rack utilisation.
- Assess electrical and cooling infrastructure utilisation and available capacity.
- Identify capacity constraints, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Support rack placement, space planning, and infrastructure readiness for new deployments.
- Maintain capacity data within DCIM and asset management systems.
- Collaborate with Operations, Facilities, Network, Server, and vendor teams.
- Provide capacity reporting, analysis, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in data centre infrastructure, facilities engineering, or capacity planning.
- Strong understanding of data centre power, cooling, resilience, and redundancy concepts.
- Experience with DCIM platforms and asset management tools (e.g., Nlyte, Remedy, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, forecasting, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
