Data Centre Engineer

What the role is:

ISD confronts and addresses threats to Singapore’s internal security and stability. For over 70 years, ISD and its predecessor organizations have played a central role in countering threats such as those posed by foreign subversive elements, spies, racial and religious extremists, and terrorists. You will be part of a dynamic infrastructure team responsible for the implementation and management of strategic data centre technologies.

What you will be working on:

• Participate in designing and modernisation of data centre infrastructure.
• Manage data centre operations, which include formulation and assessment of KPIs, capacity planning, usage management, etc.
• Coordinate with stakeholders during incident response and remediation of issues.
• Manage data centre modernisation and technology upgrade projects.
• Manage data centre maintenance contracts.
• Provide technical consultancy to stakeholders regarding project on‑boarding.
• Review and refine existing workflows as part of ongoing digital transformation for Data Centre operation.
• Explore new technologies and solutions to improve operational efficiency and physical security of the data centre.

What we are looking for:

• 2 years of working experience in data centre operation and/or facility management will be advantageous.
• Applicants with no experience may apply.
• Good knowledge in data centre infrastructure setup, capacity planning, resource allocation, and data centre standards.
• Experienced in ICT outsourcing, project management, vendor management and contract management.
• Strong analytical skills and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate, organise, prioritise and multi‑task.
• Good team player, versatile in learning and strong interests in technology.
